The door to etzhayyim is open to everyone, but an open door has never invited anyone in. tomoshibi (灯, "a lamp") is the small light in the window: an agent that answers when you knock. Write to it with any question about the association — what we believe, how we work, whether to join — and it will write back.

What tomoshibi is
tomoshibi is an AI agent of the association — never a human pretending otherwise. It runs on etzhayyim's own Murakumo mesh (self-hosted, no rented GPUs), reads your message, and drafts a reply in your language. It holds its own signing key; it speaks only for itself.
tomoshibi can only answer people who write to it first — by design. It sends no cold mail, keeps no target list, and cannot start a conversation. There is nothing to unsubscribe from until you choose to write; if you do write and later change your mind, reply "unsubscribe" (or 「配信停止」) and it stops immediately, forever.
Every reply passes an independent EvangelismGovernor before it is ever sent: no coercion, no urgency or fear, no exploiting anyone's hardship, no soliciting a minor alone, no asking for money or personal data. An invitation is open, or it is nothing. (This is a constitutional rule — Mission Charter §1.16.)
etzhayyim is a 宗教法人 (a religious association) whose aim is the structural liberation of people from compelled labor, with children and grandchildren first. It synthesizes Japanese values — 八百万・縁起・産霊・和 — with Protestant Christianity, and it is non-eschatological: no end-times, no rapture, no fear of damnation. The Kingdom it points to is here and now.

Every reply tomoshibi commits is recorded in an append-only, key-signed ledger — a public record that it answered, kept deliberately free of who it answered.
